BA programme in Finance and Banking

The primary mission of the Finance and Banking study programme is to train highly competent specialists in finance and banking, that will contribute to the development of relevant organisations as imposed by the alignment and connection of national economy to international economic circuits.

The BA programme in Finance and Banking is accredited by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS) and includes 3 years of full-time studies.

This study programme helps our faculty provide students with the required resources for becoming outstanding specialists in finance and banking. These resources refer to:

  • human resources with high professional and teaching competence;
  • scientific books including the latest relevant publications (in the faculty’s library);
  • top-flight computer networks supporting professional software for financial trading simulations;
  • permanent online access, within the campus, through the electronic library, to databases with scientific articles and publications, to help students improve their knowledge, as well as develop their own research skills;
  • access to more than … traineeship centres for the development and reinforcement of their theoretical knowledge;
  • students’ scientific clubs (the Financial Analysis Students’ Club and the Banking Students’ Club), where students may reinforce the notions taught during the university training programme, they may become acquainted with new and interesting concepts in finance and banking, and they may meet business personalities, genuine models for success and professional performance;
  • students’ competitions, to identify, develop and enhance the students’ entrepreneurial spirit.

The main competences acquired by the graduates of the Finance and Banking specialisation refer to:

  • The proper knowledge, understanding and use of financial concepts, theories, methods and tools;
  • Processing and managing financial information;
  • Performance of economic and financial operations specific to financial and banking institutions, stock exchanges, as well as other types of private and public organisations;
  • Understanding and implementing financial decisions at all corporate management levels;
  • Implementing cash flow plans in private and public organisations;
  • Processing and interpreting information in financial statements;
  • Using statistical and mathematical devices;
  • Using IT equipment in the development of business and financial operations and transactions specific to private and public organisations;

The graduates of the Finance & Banking specialisation may develop a career in entrepreneurship or may take up any employment in business, e.g. in banking, insurance, national and multinational companies, public institutions, capital market, etc.
